St Anne’s Place of Welcome, Drop in Cafe started in October 2017. We made an application for a grant and received funding of £800 from the Charity, “We Love Lichfield” from this we were able to purchase 6 round portable white plastic tables (which have been very useful on other occasions) also purchased were two portable pump action flasks.

We meet in the choir vestry on Thursday mornings from 11am to 1pm and are completely “self contained” in fact we have opened on two occasions when there have been funerals at the same time and have not experienced any problems for the Drop In or the funeral.

We have a list of people who have offered their help on a monthly basis (usually two or three helpers plus Carol and myself in attendance each week.)

Before the Cafe opens we start with a short prayer then put out the “A Frame” “Place of Welcome” sign at the entrance to the Church on Church Street. On the opening day we had 16 (yes, sixteen) visitors, and one of the 16 was homeless, and we have regular visits from members of other churches in the Burntwood area. There have been as many as 23 adults plus 1 child and on two separate occasions a dog walker and dog. We serve tea, coffee cakes and biscuits lots of chat and many laughs. So, if you would like to join us, please DROP IN, we would love to see you.
